HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Posted on Sat 2nd Jan, 2010 .
Wow...what a year 2009 was!

We had a fair old roller coaster of a ride and in the process played some of the best gigs we've ever played, met some great new friends and partied with older ones, broke strings, straps and erm...vans - got hit in the face with balloons, unleashed the Coops on un-paying promoters and generally left blood, sweat and tears (of joy) all over England!

We would like to wish all of our friends out there a very VERY happy new
year! LETS MAKE 2010 A YEAR TO REMEMBER! ;-) Most of all thanks for all of your support during 2009, we're so lucky to have you!!

With your help and support we feel ready to go full steam ahead this year and really break into the industry and let the world know who we are!

Plans are big for 2010 and we need all the help we can from our lovely lovely loyal fans ;)

So when you get a minute, copy and paste the links below anywhere you can! Add your friends to the facebook page, get people listening to our music, show them Lee's Playgirl centerfold pic and of course bring them to ...the gigs!!!

With you guys on our side we feel like we've got a real shot at this!

LETS KICK SOME ASS!!! :D

Sad News :(
Posted on Fri 4th Sep, 2009 .
Hey Guys!

Hope this message finds you all well!

We are absolutely gutted to say that the two gigs we had planned for tomorrow (5th), The Dorset steam fair and Monto Water rats in London have had to be cancelled. Unfortunately our singer Dan has come down with a really bad cold which has seen him laid up in bed since Wednesday! Obviously being a singer its not something you can just get on with on stage, and we also dont want to risk any further damage.

We did everything we could to try and make it happen and gave Dan every chance to recover but sometimes you just have to admit defeat.

We cant apologies enough for any inconvenience caused. We hope we havent put anyone out..... you know we'll do our best to make it up to you all!

Our next gig is on the 25th at BORDERLINE in London, so you can rest assured we will make this an awesome night for all you guys who come along!

Once again our sincerest apologies.... you guys are the best! :-)

MONTO WATER RATS.... THE REUNION!!! 5th September!!!
Posted on Sat 22nd Aug, 2009 .
Hey Ladies and Gents....

We hope you all very well.... happy... merry and content, of good health and not feeling the cold hand of the recession too much. Ok enough of that....

Some of you guys may remember, almost a year to the day, our little jaunt up to London to see us play at Monto Water Rats. It was a fantastic day had by all. Two whole mini buses went up, full to the brim with you guys, (then known as groupies!). Those Londoners didnt know what hit them.... ohhhh, we must have drank like 7 cokes and 3 waters between us... what a day! WHAT A DAY. No doubt they still talk about it now. I even recall seeing a snickers bar at one point. The less said about that the better. Hell Raisers the lot of you!

But anyway.... and now we come to the point of all this .... yep it does actually have a point..... We're playing there again on the 5th of September!

Mini buses will be going up again so we'd love it if you could come and support us and hopefully we'll all have another memorable night along the way.

Now just a few things you need to know before you message us saying, "yes , book me a seat". We've got quite a late slot. We're playing at 11.45pm. But hey, its London, a Saturday night... who cares. You only live once! Its going to be £15 each, which includes your transport there and back.... PLUS your ticket.... PLUS a kiss from Ross, Lee and Dan..... AND WAIT....Chloe too.... yep I just asked her if she was ok with that and she said yes! Now you cant say fairer than that!

So once again guys, thanks for all your continued support, we couldnt do this without you. Message me and let me know if you can make it!

Al

Hello there!

Just wanted to chime in with some of the latest news and rumors from the (not so) secret world [TLD]...

First off,The Joiners gig was pretty EPIC - thanks to all you beautiful people who came! A special thanks to those of you who were kind enough to give lifts and to Hannah @ HB Promotions - you are STARS!

Second, youve probably noticed a hefty amount of gigs lined up over the coming months - although some will take us off to the never-regions of the Earth (England) we still hope to see some familiar faces along with the new ones...we get awful fwightend when we are all on our lonesome in strange new places ya know...its like when you were at school and you would walk down the hall and people stared at you cuz they didnt know who you were....(well not me,I was like MEGA POPULAR at school... but you know what I mean).

Lastly, those of you who are coming to the next gig might notice something different and very cool about the band.....BUT I AINT TELLIN!

See you soon sexeez!

EP LAUNCH PARTY Review!

The Longest Day/Grott Party - Mr Kyps, Poole 4th June 2009

Tonight is a special gig as a launch for local band The Longest Day's new 3 track CD ep, a mouth-watering teaser of what is to be expected from their highly anticipated as yet unnamed debut album. The support band Grott Party arrive on the Mr Kyps stage with an air of comedy and arrogance in equal amounts, playing their guitars fast and loud just like the rock gods they actually believe that they are. The subject matter of their lyrics are really quite random and refreshingly different, a song about president of Zimbabwe Robert Mugabe simply called "Vote or Die",with a another track called "Facebook.com" which had a very annoyingly catchy chorus which as I looked around I saw most people in the audience singing along to. The are from a small suburb of Poole called Upton and they are possibly one of the best/only bands to evey come out of there. The band comprise of Lewis Murray in the zany shades on lead vocals/guitar, Dan Davis on bass and Ryan Murray on drum/vocals. Considering the band only played their 1st gig back in December this 3 piece rock outfit can certainly entertain and hold an audiences interest. Further tracks such a "Tittybar" , "Log on to Love" and the controversial "At least Sixteen" provides a great ending to their short and highly amusing set, who says that you can't mix comedy with rock'n' roll.

I really cannot hide my enthusiasm for this band , I first saw The Longest Day on the stage at the Gander in Bournemouth as a 3 piece and just listening to Dan's voice and the searing melodic guitars gave made the hairs on the back on my neck stand up. Tonight's sees the band arrive on stage as a four piece with the addition of guitarist Tom Gee, to an already large following of loyal fans, they are all dressed in black and sporting the new TLD logo, they almost look like they have had some kind of rock make over. They have been in the studio paving the way for a future that is yet unknown, people will sit up and listen to this band as they have as I have said before something very special. The sound tonight in Mr Kyps is perfect and The Longest Day do not disappoint, as well as the regular live classics, the crowd are treated to a few newer songs such as fast paced "I See Through You" which kicks off with a great duelling guitar intro and "Suburban Hell" which is a much slower number which included a guest violinist which added a nice addition to the sound. After a short break the band were called back for an encore which was made up of an extended version of "Content Enough' which was truely impressive and showed the band at their best combining their vocals and guitars, with an addition of a Metallica style jam at the end. The band left the stage to huge applause from everyone in the audience who all obviously thoroughly enjoyed their night in the company of two great bands.

The Longest Day's new 3 track Album Sampler is out now and can be purchased here for £3.00:

EP Launch Party!
Posted on Tue 26th May, 2009 .
Well the launch party is just over a week away - and we are super excited!

Being cramped up in studios and practice rooms for months on end does something to a man...yknow what i mean?..Kinda like when those soldiers were stuck in the bunkers and missing their wives...

ANYWAY

Its shaping up to be a great night and its wicked to see that you troops have wasted no time in using this new website as weve had a few people buying E tickets for the show and quite alot of downloads of our exclusive free track (ya pesky freeloaders!!!! ....Just kiddin!!)

Also,I would just like to take this time to formally welcome Miss Chloe Cooper (or Coops as shes lovingly known) into the TLD fold.

Chloe is our new booking agent and whip cracker...and we are very lucky to have her onboard, shes already doing a wicked job and kicking ass for us on a daily basis and making sure we get our standard 333 red skittles,a giant baby bottle and a monkey skeleton at every show we play.....(only pulling your leg.......we dont ask for the baby bottle)

We are currently planning a summer tour and a few more shows in the London + Southampton areas but as always we will keep you posted!

Hope to see you all soon!
